Season 6 of the pioneering series The Universe™ on H2™ takes viewers further than ever, to the extreme edges of our solar system where chaos and catastrophe bring epic drama to the planets – including some of the most horrifying days on Earth. Through stunning CGI, witness the birth pangs of the solar system, shocked into existence by a nearby supernova, and enduring over 700 million years of brutal bombardment by deadly asteroids; colossal cataclysms that shaped the planets and transformed their climates forever; and startling new scientific discoveries revealing a hellish history of continuous devastation on Earth. And travel to the system’s very fringes to explore the possibility that the Sun has an evil twin, a monstrous star known as Nemesis suspected of causing every mass extinction in Earth’s history. In signature cutting-edge style, H2 features astounding NASA footage and the opinions of leading astrophysicists to probe even more deeply into the billion-years-old story of the world beyond Earth.

Such a good show. Explains everything in easy to understand language but doesnt limit itself in expanding your knowledge of the universe. Highly Recomended!!
  • It has its moments

The acknowledgement that we NOW do not exactly know where we are in the Milky Way galaxy, or its actual shape, is an interesting find. However, it has its moments where it's downright ridiculous, for instance, the episode about God and the Universe and string "theory".
  • A joke to call this science.

Slick cartoons for the uneducated. Don't waste your money.

I truly enjoy space shows, and The Universe was awesome... early on. The first few seasons are way better than the recent ones. The reaction I used to get from watching an episode was "wow." Now it's, "well duh." Instead of talking about all the topics about the universe, the show seems to have a fetish for the apocalpyse. Most episodes lately involve asteroids or comets hitting the earth, or a vast array of other horrible (and far-fetched) endings to the world. Not to mention that more and more shows are becoming "countdown" episodes of ridiculous topics. 10 ways to blow up the earth? Come on. 10 worst days in Earth's history? (By the way, #1 is one that hasn't even happened yet. A total let down after sticking thru that whole episode.) The Universe has lost its way, but still has a lot of great stuff in the beginning worth checking out.
  • More science fiction than science

This is more science fiction than science. Scientists seem to be losing their sense of reality, and replacing it with their hypertrophied imaginations. What is not observable is not an object of science. Couldn't we have an adult program about real scientific discoveries?
  • Awesome show

It's an amazing time in human history as far as space exploration goes, and I hope this show continues to be on the forefront of explaining discoveries.

Very well done, enhanced format including more physical science in-conjunction with words, numbers and metaphors to enhance understanding. There are many words of wisdom on the same page as Sagans cosmos wisdom. Entertaining, better graphics (few recycled from past seasons). More of the physicists and professors we all love! Thank you! I thought this show was over after season 5. Cheers to a long and interesting future, let's make it to season ten!
  • A once good show that has lost its way :(

More scifi than science and learning. The scientist guys and gals in the show should go back to their day jobs, and furthering human knowledge. The first season is still the best.
