Description

It’s been 50 years since man ventured into the unknown, and the heavens are only now yielding their greatest secrets. Season 5 of The Universe follows in the galactic path of this illuminating series, which examines what we know about space and the world beyond our own. Robotic rovers on Mars, NASA probes slamming into comets and deep space telescopes capturing violent images of the birth of stars are a few examples of what The Universe explores. How were discoveries made? Who made them? Dramatic CGI and interviews with expert cosmologists, astronomers and astrophysicists bring the history of the heavens down to earth and provide a glimpse into our future.

I love it! Such a good show. Explains everything in easy to understand language but doesnt limit itself in expanding your knowledge of the universe. Highly Recomended!!

This is one of the best shows about the Universe. I own all 5 seasons! But I am not sure if this last episode Dark Future of the Sun is the last one as I haven't seen any new ones coming out for a long time. I hope not, but if it is, then there are many others out there about the same topic. Thanks iTunes!! Manolo Romero.

this show used to be about the universe.. now its about how it ends. it is not informaive anymre now its just a bunch of pessemistic doomsdayers making shows about the rapture
  • An entire year without even a word on a Season 6.

History Ch. has really made 2011 their worst programing ever. It is all job duty reality. All I know is that there is no reason why the Universe can have 15-20 Seasons. Even an amateur enthusiastic Astronomer like my self is chalked full Ideas.
  • It's a good show, but...

I loved the first 2 seasons and the third and forth were good, but now there is a lot of redundant information, and not much in the way of new and fascinating. I am happy that Mr. Marcy found his planets (really I am), but please do not make me sit through that explanation again. Plus add to that "Through the Wormhole", "Into the Universe", and "Known Universe", and you start to realize everyone is hopping on the "The Universe" type shows bandwagon without really saying anything new, They just slap on some new graphics and call it a new show. Don't get me wrong though those graphics are amazing, but I just wish I felt the awe I did during the first 2 seasons of this show. It was the original and I still think it is the best. It just needs fresh input. I would like to see more episodes that are of the quality of the season 1 episode "Beyond the Big Bang". I feel that episode was the high point of the show so far.

Bought the 'Season Pass' and am somewhat disappointed. It's just 'okay'. It's boring because it seems to be dumbed down and moronically sensationalized for the masses. We are all doomed. Meh.
  • Mind Blowing!

I can see how this season is appealing to someone who has never seen this type of programming before. As for my self, I’m done with it! Same stuff different package. Perhaps they should change the name to “The Solar System…stuff you already knew”.
