Exclusively on iTunes: Stay tuned after the episode to take a unique look at the cast, crew, and production of The Beast. The mischievous Barker hazes Dove as they go undercover on their first case to infiltrate a weapons smuggling ring. Barker brilliantly manipulates situations, constantly tests his new partner's abilities, and pushes him to delve deeper into the roles of the undercover characters he creates. Although Dove takes a liking to Barker, the new job takes its toll on him. The stress and danger of being an agent quickly make him realize that he can no longer maintain normal relationships outside of work. Yet that's not the worst of it. The rookie is confronted with a larger challenge: An FBI Internal Affairs team feels Barker may have gone rogue, and they try to enlist Dove as a double agent in the bureau's investigation of his mentor.

I will miss this show and working on it. I was a actor and extra for the show...and had a great time and experience. Both Mr. Fimmel ANd Mr. Swayze were class acts...respectable to everyone on set.. including extras, and crew. I was sad to here of his passing as he was an great actor but he was looking bad the last days on set..but he was one fo the toughest people I have seen as once the cameras were rolling and action was called..it was likea flip of a switch and all a sudden the limp and pain was gone and he was a badass cop. Great show, and strong plot. Chicago never looked better.

  • It's no Roadhouse... but Swayze does his thing as usual.

which brings me to my point, why is Roadhouse not available for download on iTunes? Save it, there is no excuse. That was Swayze's "Mona Lisa" and it's not even here! Frankly, it's an outrage and I can't see myself paying for anything else on iTunes until this madness is settled. OUT.

just to respond to the reviews about the camera work, it's so bad, you see boom mics and even camera-men in the show! Look at the episode were they are in with the homeless (Mercy 10:47), they pan right across another camera.... these reviewers are on crack. I like the show, but camerawork is NOT the draw. Its the man.
  • Don't pass this up -- way too good to skip past

In short: just watch the pilot, it'll make my point for me -- this show is _waaay_ too good to miss. Every single episode is just flat-out terrific drama; for some reason, most of the way through the season now, I'm _still_ surprised that there isn't a crap episode. I mean, there's always at least a couple, right? But no, Patrick Swayze and Travis Fimmel are absolutely fantastic.... I'm not accustomed to A&E serial dramas, perhaps, but I love stuff on TNT/CBS/NBC/Fox/etc and so even though I'm familiar with procedural crime dramas, "The Beast" still really stands out, even among the best shows. Try it out, and promptly -- I'm actually even glad now to have been so wrong about Swayze for so many years, just thinking of him as a stupid sort of caricature of his "Dirty Dancing"/"Roadhouse"/"Ghost" characters. Holy heck, this guy makes "The Beast" kick some serious butt.

what a show. I must admit after American Idol started 2 get boring for me tv sucked. But the beast refreshed my liking of tv shows. With an intense plot, twist turns, action, drama, and being a mean dude (Patrick Swayze) its a recipe for succses. WATCH THIS SHOW BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING ELSE. Btw I must give my hat off to Patrick Swayze he has to be one of the greatest come back kids in acting, keep on hanging in there man!!!!!

Amazing directing. This show is done like a movie, you feel like you are watching a movie - much higher quality of directing and camera work than any other show. Nice acting, esp. Swayze.
