  • Heart-breaking and SO Necessary to Watch

This film describes where we are in time, and the suffering families - and children, particularly - endure unnecessarily. Our governmental policies and priorities go to the top bidder. That is a broken system. We all know children are Our Future. How is it that we as a nation can allow our very own futures to be so under- and mal-equipped, never mind being bolstered to flourish? Time for a systematic change. This documentary calls for it, and very eloquently, beautifully so.
  • Agriculture is poison...

The peasants have always eaten the products of agriculture. Agriculture was invented to feed the masses and the reason why the population has been able to grow to the levels today. But it's not optimal human nutrition, sugar and white flour make you fat and give you chronic disease. If you look at these people's plates they are all eating chips, noodles, mac n cheese, milk, cookies…and of course they are all fat. It's classic malnutrition, see Weston A. Price's research. Meat, vegis, fruit, eggs and nuts are the only human foods, but the USA just can't let go of it's agriculture industry, and the related profits. Nice work USA.
  • Eye opening! A must see.

For Us as Americans to understand what some of our fellow Americans are experiencing in America (maybe your neighbor) the rich and wealthy country that we are. Eye opening to the difficulties/costs experienced by persons trying to survive poverty and trying to dig themselves out of poverty. Also very insightful to how large agribusiness obtain our tax dollars and how small farmer American rarely qualifies.
  • I agree - I'm waiting to buy it.

It's something I want to refer to - so I'm gonna wait…let me know Apple, when you decide to sell it like most other movies you list. Not sure where the rationale comes to limit to rent or purchase, but whatever.
  • Obesity

I see A LOT of fat kids in America, and many more obese adults on food stamps. While fruits and vegetables may cost more than they have in the past, they're still affordable. Also, farmers markets are much cheaper too. This film is just another attempt to smear conservatives and use minority communities to do it...sickening.

    The price is ridiculous.
  • Doesn't add up....

I enjoyed watching it on itunes because you can research every example the film provided; and most of the examples don't add up. Don't believe me watch it again, and research it yourself. It takes just a few minutes to determine SNAP requirements in a particular state or the US ranking in food insecurity Only towards the end of the film, do they provide a good example which is when Obama tried to increase the Child Nutrition Program by redirecting some of the food subsidies. After watching the entire film, the only thing checked out and made sense is that we need to "reclaim our agriculture policy" by ensuring the right foods are available to the people that need it.

one thing people need to remember about food stamp programs is that its called food assistance for a reason its not meant to be the main source of buying groceries it is to help out so less cash has to come out of pocket. as someone who was morbidly obese and has not completely changed my life around i can tell you my food bill went from 250. a month to almost 475 a month just by eating healthy. i am shocked at the price of fresh fruits and vegetables and the cost is even more if you try to buy made in the united states only. i have had to switch from driving to and from work to riding my bike and from driving to the market to taking the bus to and from the market because of the cost of gasoline and the extra money i spend eating healthy i wish the movie would address how we are suppose to deal with all of that. i have even gotten a new higher paying job to help with the cost and am in the process of planting my own vegetable garden to save even more money remember invest in gold silver guns ammo and alcohol and you will be ok

  • Movie great - streaming not so good

I really enjoyed the film, and learned a lot watching it. What I didn't like was that the streaming was done very badly. The connection between sound and what was happening in the film was way off, and extremely annoying. As long as I closed my eyes, and only listened, it was OK. At least that way I was not so badly distracted hearing a voice speaking, when on the film the person was walking away or even out of the picture. As for the information given, I just hope enough people see the film , that are able to actually make something positive happen to correct the situation. Or at least start the ball rolling in the right direction. Otherwise, all the talking in the world is going nowhere. We need majoy policy changes in our government, and we need everyone in our nation to wake up and actually see and understand what is going on here, and then force the goverment to do something about it. Our children are the futue and back of our nation. If we don't take care of them properly RIGHT NOW, they are not going to be here to take care of anyone in the years ahead.
