WAY overrated crap. Rarely has a horror movie been so busy and yet so unscary. It's like they tried to squeeze every single haunted house cliche into one film. Between the spooky little girls, the creepy dolls, the rocking chair rocking itself, the lights switching themselves off, the storms, the spooky birds, the vengeful ghost, the creepy old house itself, and on and on and on, it never has a free second to actually get suspenseful or, you know, scary. It's like an Abbott and Costello or Three Stooges haunted house routine. Harry Potter races around the set, looking so pooped from everything going on that he forgets to, you know, act. Even the music is cliched horror movie music. Just not good.

Good classic horror movie. Don't pay attention to bad reviews probably written by teenagers that if they don't see violence and sex they will trash a good movie.

This film is decent, and slightly scary, but could someone tell me what the HELL Daniel Radcliffe is doing in this movie?! You don't see Kane Hodder and Vincent Price prancing around in wizard robes do you?! Just... Know your place in film history, Daniel Radcliffe. I can't take him seriously in any role other than Harry Potter. Other than Harry freaking Potter starring in this film, it was ok.

If you are hoping… that the movie might actually be interesting due to the potential of the main character solving some sort of age-old mystery and finally being 'the one' to put an end to a vile and evil situation… via his courage and thoughtfulness… you better look elsewhere ! The main character (Radcliffe) is likable enough, and either brave or crazy, but he nevertheless goes to great lengths to do what he thought was RIGHT in bringing peace of mind, heart and spirit to what turns out to be a hateful, serial killer ghost. He was hoping his actions would finally bring peace to a town haunted by the violent deaths of many children who lived there. Daniel Radcliffe’s character is successful in reuniting the dead hag with her dead son. The ghost hag (who was probably a total shrew and wretch when she was alive) does NOT accept his offer of kindness and respect. Don't waste your time on this flick ! The movie does NOT have a worthy plot and even the twist at the end is total BS ! Absolutely rotten and I don't recommend it to anyone... not even the most bored individual. The movie is total rubbish.

I went into this movie with relatively high hopes, but the plot was hard for me to follow and the voices were always hushed and hard to understand. I think that with a little more work it would be very interesting, but it didn't provide me with a good sense of closure as it currently is.
