Description

A group of friends had all they would need for a successful Easter vacation; a cabin, skis, snowmobile, toboggan, copious amounts of beer and a fertile mix of the sexes. Certainly, none of them had anticipated not returning home alive! However, the Nazi-zombie battalion haunting the mountains surrounding the aptly named Oksfjord (Axefjord) had other plans... Filmmaker Tommy Wirkola, in his own words: "DEAD SNOW is a kickback to the good old slashers like the EVIL DEAD series, where people will scream and jump in their seats, and minutes later laugh out loud. It is Scandinavia's first Nazi-zombie-horror-slasher-feel good film, maybe even the world's first, and combines blood and guts with a very dark sense of humor." "Self-concsiously outlandish...the real stars are the special effects team, which does some admirably disgusting work" - Dargis, NY Times "I cannot recommend the movie highly enough!..Tommy Wirkola is a talent to watch out for" - Father Death, Ain't It Cool

Firstly, the language spoken in the movie is NORWEGIEAN, not German. Did you pay attention at all? Secondly, it's a Norwegian film, so it's under no obligation to be written in English. The world doesn't revolve around your laziness, Americans. You can, presumably, read. Correct? Good. Then you can read the subtitles. Hilarious and gruesome movie. If you enjoy the zombie genre, you'll dig it.

I saw it had three tomatoes and figured why not, but I had to shut it off before the end it was so dumb. Don’t waste your money. Check out the Scandinavian Noir movies instead…

Nearly half of the movie is pretty boring and not funny at all, (but all horror movies are i suppose) and I almost turned off the movie because i thought it was going to be a self-aware funny zombie slayer type thing. But then, it went crazy pretty fast, and it was actually halarious and exactly what i was hoping for. If you rent this movie, dont get turned off at the beginning. Hold out until the end and it gets much better. This is the type of movie that i could watch over and over and it would just get better

Yes, it is in another language but you can watch a dubbed English version. I, personally prefer the original language. The film itself steers away from cliché zombie flick which is why it's in my must watch zombie movies. There is comedy mixed in but also no shortage of gore and it all mixes in quite well with each other.

I think this movie is one of the best movies I have ever seen. I have to agree with Dalton on the Comedy part, but the humor in the movie made it much better in my opinion. Now for the question, I was about to buy the movie off iTunes but i remembered it is in German. Does the movie come with subtitles?

The movie is average; acting is kind of bad. iTunes should state clearly in the title that spoken language is German! I want my $4.99 rental money back...

I don't know! I heard so many great things about this movie. After watching it, however, I couldn't help but think, "Wow, I wasted my money!" There is virtually no plot, and the zombie scenes are cheesy and predictable. I am so disappointed right now. :(
