Description

"Introducing the Dwights" is a heartfelt comedy about a mother who tries to come between her son and his coming of age. Tim's mom, Jean, is a bawdy and risque comedienne still hoping to make it big. His brother Mark helps their mother rehearse for shows. Together, they inhabit a non-traditional household where chaos is the norm, the music is always on, and Jean's larger-than-life personality takes center stage. When Tim meets and falls for Jill, his home becomes a combat zone as his mother fears this new girl, whose name she refuses to remember, will "break up" the unique family unit she's tried so hard to keep together. In this quirky and oftentimes touching tale, Tim must learn to manage the emotions of the women of his life without losing himself in the process.

I saw this at the Sundance Film Festival last year when it premiered and I thought it was awesome. It was called "Clubland" then but they have since renamed it...assuming that only the name has changed and the rest is the same, then I highly recommend this to anyone who likes films, basically.

Excellent from start to finish! It’s not often you see such a “true to life”-story being told so brilliantly while keeping it interesting, funny and touching. Great stuff!

this was a true pleasure to watch. i really enjoyed all the characters and their journey. this film brought out a full range of emotions in me. not only did i laugh and cry, but i was angry at the mother and then fell in love with her. we are able to feel the turmoil and confusion of the characters and yet throughout the movie i was laughing. there is depth in this movie and yet it never gets too heavy.

This movie is very good. It portrays what a mother has to go through with letting their child(ren) go. It is very heart felt yet funny! I first saw this movie in its native Australia. Who knew that Australia would emerge as a contender in the movie market. Way to go Aussies! Great movie!
