Saw it in the theater back in the day because the alternative was sitting in a monster traffic jam with no AC. It's not the worst movie in the history of cinema, but it's close.
  • Like a bad comic brought to medium budget life

It’s not a good movie, but it’s not boring. The action sequences have set ups that defy logic but the action itself isn’t badly staged and its competently choreographed. The movie also flirts with epic visuals on occasion. But what keeps things “interesting” for lack of a better word is one of the things others might find obnoxious or both. It’s very offbeat. There are a lot of odd camera angles, b flick screen wipes, both intentional and and unintentional high camp. One small saving grace is the earnestness of the characters and the filmmakers. It really wants to be a legit adventure, but its fails, but it’s heart isn’t cynical. Whatever that’s worth.
  • If you’re a junky for stupid Dutch angles...

...Then this movie’s for you. An exercise in everything Not to do when you make a film. Love it. Punish your brain cells and watch this. Then, sign up to be a Scientologist.
  • Worst. Movie. Ever.

Also my biggest regret. It’s filled with constant camera tilts (known as the Dutch Angle), the worst acting I’ve ever seen, and the unneccessary usage of color filtering. No wonder it won Worst Picture of 2000 AND Worst Picture of the 2000s!
