Watched this film for the first time when it came out in 1989, my senior year in high school, and have not forgot how it touched me ever since. In the spirit of Ryan Holiday’s “The Obstacle is the Way”, this is a heartwarming story of two lives intersecting after youthful tragedy and indiscretion. Both lives destined for greater things in spite of misfortune and underprivilege, they meet at college, find themselves through debate, and end up growing and learning about one another and life leveraging strength gained from their respective past. This movie and characters are sure to touch you but only if you are willing to listen to me.

Let's face it, this movie will never be on any Top Movie list but there's something to it that I truly enjoy. It has a bit of love, drama and dreaming all together that makes it one of my favorite collegue movies. Worth seeing it on a Saturday evening, under a cosy blanket.
