    •had a hard time understanding what the actors were saying because of their heavy accents except for Nicole Kidman •at times the music got too loud and I had to keep lowering and raising the volume •talking animals are kind of odd, movies like this are geared for preteens I watched to the end but overall the movie wasn’t as good as I expected. Everyone sounded like they were from Britain but ‘daemons’ are of Greek origin. Didn’t fit well.

    I liked the movie but it needs another part but they didn't make one so you never know what's happened to them.

    I love the books and when I found out that there was a movie I got excited and bought it. The beginning and middle follow pretty close to the book except they changed up the order of Lyra’s journey. But to me that seemed reasonable. But what really ticked me if was the ending. First of all the book ends with Lyra following her father into a new world but the movie ends with Roger, Lee, and Lyra flying in Lee’s balloon. And ending there they cut of the end of the book. Over all I think this movie would have been great if they put in the ending.

    I was in middle school when this first came out and I loved it. I admit I thought it was a better movie back then, but I still enjoy it as an adult. It's a cool concept and Nicole Kidman is great in it. I highly recommend the books. A shame the sequels never got made into movies.

    What a gorgeous film! For those who study animal spirit guides and soul catchers and the ultimate power of free will - this is a dream come true...that someone was “allowed” to depict these ideas and show us what REALLY MATTERS! I read that the Catholic Church perhaps blocked the movie sequel....not a surprise at all.
