  • what happened?

i agree with other reviews that the first three seasons were very strong and covered complex topics with nuance and intelligence. but this season is turning out to be pretty weak. i mean, anyone who pays even the slightest bit of attention knows that calling the higgs boson "the god particle" is cringe inducing within the physics community, in addition to the fact that it's a sensationalist gimmick. the rest of the episodes are fluff. what happened to the cosmology and physics that made this series worth watching? it's too bad that it went down hill so far and so quickly.
  • It's Clear This Is Probably The Last Season

Make no mistake -- Morgan Freeman is a great host and narrator for this series, and the first three seasons have been quite interesting. But when your new season focuses on sex and God, it usually means you've run out of ideas and you've "jumped the shark." This happened to "The Universe" series and it has happened to other science programs available on iTunes. I'm willing to bet this will end up being the last season, which is too bad. But better a series ends on a high note with people wanting more than to fall prey to the "sex/god" gimmicks to simply keep a series going. Bottom line: Three great seasons, one weak season (to date).

His voice just makes everything so much more effective. As I often ask my friends: what if Siri had the voice of Morgan Freeman?
  • A very good show!

While there is often a lot of hearsay and speculation in this show it is not overly done. The show manages to keep a good balance between what is theory and what is science. If you are into the possibilities of science and where things might be heading technologically and physically then this show is for you. As always Morgan's narrative keeps the show interesting and moving along without being overly simplified. Overall it is a really good show that I look forward to with each new season.
