Description

Archer is an animated, half-hour comedy that revolves around an international spy agency and the lives of its employees. Although their work of espionage, reconnaissance missions, wiretapping and undercover surveillance is daunting and dangerous, every covert operation and global crisis is actually just another excuse for the staff to undermine, sabotage and betray each other for personal gain. The series features the voices of H. Jon Benjamin as the highly skilled and incredibly vain master spy “Sterling Archer;” Aisha Tyler as Archer’s fellow agent and ex-girlfriend “Lana Kane;” Jessica Walter as Archer’s domineering mother and the director of the agency, “Malory Archer;” Chris Parnell as the easily intimidated comptroller-turned-agent “Cyril Figgis;” Judy Greer as Malory’s loquacious secretary, “Cheryl Tunt;” Amber Nash as the discordant director of human resources, “Pam Poovey;” Adam Reed as the gay voice of reason, “Ray Gillette;” Lucky Yates as the agency’s possibly mad scientist, “Krieger;” and George Coe as Archer’s elderly and always exploited butler, “Woodhouse.” An FX Networks Original Series.

This series is the pinnacle of animated TV series. To not watch Archer is to disregard your human roots. It has the rare ability to be watched over and over. I keep laughing each time.

One of the funniest things that has ever lived. If there are too many times to watch this, I have yet to discover the number. I can't get enough of the hilarity.

As with many great television shows, great cannot continue forever. You can see how novel and clever the humor was in the first season, and you can't wait for more to surprise you again. Season two began in a more lackluster manner, almost more conservative and pleasing to more, and the humor was recycled from years/decades past. Things became especially cliche when they introduced the gay character who acts in the most stereotypical way, not adding any real substance or character to the show; rather, it seems to be a fluff character that one can bounce a quickie off of to distract viewers from a show becoming less and less creative and funny. In fact, the characters did the opposite of develop- they now insult your intelligence by being one-dimensional and repetitively so. Season one. That's the one season that should be lauded for being innovatively amazing.
  • Freshest show ever!
