The series is titled Masters of The Universe, not He-Man and The Masters of The Universe. Fans were upset that He-Man died in the first episode, but failed to continue the show and find out he’s not gone for good.

Just watch the original, this is nothing like it. Not for fans of the original series

Legit He-Man fan from the 1980’s here. Ok, I feel that this series has received some warranted and some unfair criticisms. *Spoilers* are marked, here’s my review with constructive criticisms! THE GOOD + + Gorgeous Animation and (mostly) awesome character designs. + Awesome ideas and concepts, even if not always executed as well as they could be. + A lot of nods and Easter eggs to long term fans of original Filmation and mini books. + Top notch superb voice acting from legendary and iconic voice actors/actresses! (Mark Hamil, Kevin Conroy, Tony Todd, Sarah Michelle Geller, Lena Hedy, Alicia Silverstone, Justin Long and even Alan Oppenheimer!) + Epic fights and awesome action scenes! + *SPOILERS* Really dug the death of Superman vibe and concept idea here. They killed Optimus Prime in the first act of the original 1986 Transformers movie too but he came back later on, remember? + *Spoilers* He-Man flashbacks were epic! Liked his cheesy one-Liners! + *Spoilers* He-Man transforming without his sword and becoming “Savage” He-Man which is a nod to original mini books, Awesome! THE BAD - - Teela. This is a big one. Teela was such an awesome and important character in the original series that was handled poorly and done a massive disservice here. Nothing to do with Sarah Michelle Geller’s voice acting (which was quite good), Teela just didn't have the greatest character writing. Teela as one of the main MOTU characters could have easily taken center stage in this story had she been written better, but they wrote her to be really unlikeable. She comes across as selfish, bitter and mean spirited with massive power ups that aren’t proportional with the lack of character growth in her story arc. When a character just gets gifted everything simply because they’re the “bestest”, and they don’t have to train, struggle or overcome, all while having a bad attitude the entire time, it’s harder to like them and root for them. Think if any character never trained and just powered up simply “because”. No explanation. It’s harder to take them seriously and relate to them when there’s not really a pay off in character growth. *Spoiler* To be fair though, Teela does lighten up in the very end and act more true to her character. - Man at arms manbun. OVERALL: I really LIKED this series and find it very Re-watchable, even if it had some rough areas and Teela that could have been handled so much better. MOTU Revelations had a lot of cool and legitimately good ideas that if were executed just a little closer to the source material could have made it an instant classic! Even if this series was not as good as it could have been, I recommend! Hopefully Kevin Smith and team listen to constructive feedback/criticism and will have more He-Man and a more likable/relatable Teela. Excited for MOTU REVOLUTION!!!

I grew up watching He-Man back in the 80’s. This is sad.

Ecstatic to see He-Man and all of these characters return in such epic fashion with some fresh new ideas added in to flesh out the lore. Seeing things that never showed up in animation before was such a treat. Next season please add special features to deep dive into the production and making-of. Hey Kevin, how about commentary for each episode?
