  • Do not buy!

The Apple Support representative told me that for $2.99 I had not purchased an episode, as advertised, but a trailer and there is no episode for purchase, which I find totally ridiculous to why someone would want to buy a trailer. Therefore I asked for a refund. I find this whole system bizarre as the iTunes Store is offering something and people are paying for what they think is an TV program for sale but according to your specialist is not for sale.

    Where is the episode yo?
  • Why did I pay $2.99 for a trailer?

There is no episode here, just the trailer. Amazon Prime actually provides the episode in exchange for $2.99. iTunes’ Doctor Who content is always a hot mess, but this episode has been out for over a month and Apple still doesn’t have it.
  • Purchased but must be in the Tardis

Purchased the episode but only have the trailer, what is going on?

I should have paid more attention to the reviews on iTunes, but I can't seem to find the episode I just spent $3 plus tax on. When will it qualify for season 13 and when will the Eve of the Daleks episode release? I can only see the 32 second trailer, but there is no episode. I’m not criticizing Doctor Who, I’m criticizing the lack of support on iTunes. Fix it!

The story lacked depth and substance, I was eager for it to be done. The ending was so predictable and unlike other groundhog day variants, it failed to build on previous loop in a meanintgul manner.

I was so excited to see what the new team would do with Doctor Who. I wanted it to be good. It’s just not. I used to LOVE the Christmas specials (btw I don’t celebrate Christmas), now I just suffer through them.

I loved this special.. it was fun to watch, BUT what’s the problem with with iTunes? Who is categorising the files? Why is this Special part of season 1? Please fix this.
  • A not funny groundhog day

The groundhog day story that was the core of this plotline is done to death, and really only works if it is funny. This story wasn't. Combined with the unlikeable style of the current batch of writers who act like they've only barely gotten descriptions of previous Doctor Who lore, never sat down and watched a season or two in order to get the feel, the episode just fell flat. I ended up hoping that the daleks would just exterminate the doctor in the end so we could be rid of this travesty. Be it the writing, the acting or the combination, the new doctor still hasn't managed to capture the charisma every doctor since the reboot was at least at times able to capture. This episode only kept that going, with the two guest stars showing more character than the doctor. The companions were little more than decorations, adornments worn on the sleeve, contributing basically nothing to the story themselves. They were not the mirror of humanity they often are asked to play, nor were they the grounding force that drove the Doctor to action.

After the insanely manic and incomprehensible Flux saga this was a breath of fresh air. It was intense and suspenseful, and the time-loop idea was well-staged and made logical sense.
