Description

Arnold Schwarzenegger stars in the pulse-pounding action film Sabotage, from the director of End of Watch and the writer of Training Day. When DEA task force leader Breacher Wharton (Schwarzenegger) storms a heavily armed cartel safe house, rogue members of his team use it as a cover to steal $10 million in cash. But just when they think their secret is safe, agents are killed off one-by-one, and everyone is a suspect, including the squad itself. Co-starring Sam Worthington, Olivia Williams, Terrence Howard, Joe Manganiello, Josh Holloway and Mireille Enos, Sabotage is an explosive tale of betrayal and trust that critics call "a tense, action-packed thrill ride!" (Mark DeCarlo, ABC-TV's Windy City LIVE)

There are holes in the story, but overall it’s not as bad a movie as the negative reviews say it is. A bit of a who-dunnit with action movie. The romance, however little of it, was not believable.

Look. Action & Adventure is not a catagory that generally wins Oscars. Basically this is a B version of a movie like Sicario. It needs help in the screenplay and coherence department. But what it gets right is the high speed lifestyle of elite law enforcement/military. If you like to watch an action movie now and then without caring how intelligent it is - this one works.
  • Not worth it

Not worth being sucked in to buy it. Poor plot, fair acting by some very bad by others.

First off, it's a revenge story. Arnold's character, John Wharton, steals money, from people he considers to be his family, and then lies to them. The lie eventually drives his family insane, especially when one of them dies from a cartel hit squad, prompting a couple of the John's teammates to kill the other members. This goes on for the majority of the film and is the weakest part of the story. All the bloodshed is based on a lie that doesn't make sense. If John thought of his team as his family, why would he lie to them? And, if his team thought the same why wouldn't they help him? It just doesn't make sense, and the whole team is driven mad for no good reason. Eventually John finds the man who killed his wife and son, after using the stolen money to bribe an official. This is actually the best part of the film, to an extent. There is a manner of redemption at the end, though it is near insignificant. The action was great, however. I liked all the action scenes, it's just the story that brings the film down. Ben Shapiro recommended bringing back an updated version of the Hays Code, and I agree. I can imagine this film having turned out differently, and vastly superior to the one presented here, if there was an updated version of the Hays Code. Demand studios adhere to an updated version of the Hays Code, and we could very well see an end to crappy modern Hollywood films - hopefully there'll be less socialist propaganda as well. *cough* Tomorrowland *cough.*

It has some good plot twists and turns, good action. The language is a bit over the top and not necessary - great to see Arnold beating people up again!

In others words, this movie is about a bunch of tatted-up rabbits with guns hopping all over the place. Bugs Bunny wrote the script!

What an awful movie! What a waste of time and money! I cut my losses by watching only about 30 minutes of if before a turned it off. I rarely write reviews but I have to this time because Scharzenegger's performance in it. I believe it's his first movie since leaving the governor's office. What vulgar trash for a former governor to be associated with. I'm not a prude but they didn't have to go so far out of their way to be so vulgar. Poor plot, poor acting, poor direction, vulgar crude script. Yuk!
  • Let down even for an Arnold fan

I must admit I watch most of Arnold's movies, but this one was a disappointment. Some of the fault lies with the editors and the director. Even for an action movie, there is an excessive amount of profanity and useless story tangents. Overall, rent if you must but you should probably skip this one.

I give this feature a one star rating solely for the vulgar language that was totally unnessessary. Writers must have a "FU_K" key on their keyboard!
