I don't know what the rotten tomato critics were seeing but either they are rating the wrong movie or are just plain fools. I watched this with my parents and younger brother. My father is a man of stone mind you and all of us, including him cried through almost the entire thing. It is that good!!! In fact my brother was instantly moved to organize a fundraiser at his school for this cause. It is touching , riveting, and just a flat out must see!!!!! At least rent it please!!!!!!!!

I am a bit surprised by how low the ratings were from Rotten Tomatoes. Felt it was a good solid and nicely directed. The performance by the African children were impressive and moving. Worth watching. A good movie.

So good! Everyone should really try and actually make a difference in the world! If it reaches across the world, wonderful! But it starts in the home. Everything we say and do is imparted into our loves and should be carefully regarded as so.
  • if rotten tomatos hates it rent it!!!

This is an inspiring story of a degenerate who finds God and then purpose in life. He takes it upon himself to fight for a people whose cries have been ignored by the world. The positive side of the story was a little unbalanced by the great lengths and time spent on proving the main character as a true and awful 'sinner'. If the unnecessary sex and drug scenes were not included, this true story would have appealed to an enormous audience. Depicts some of the real struggles and frustrations that missionaries experience. Good action scenes. Proof that action definitely speaks louder than words. A nice deviation from the manufactured, fictional super hero movies.
  • Loved the movie, don't watch with your parents/kids

I REALLY liked this movie, I would give five stars to the story, five stars to Butlers acting, five stars to Childers, but I wish I could watch it with my mom. It's the type of story she would love. I had to hide in my room on my iPad with the volume down because of all the swears. In short, watch it, but if your a kid, not with your parents, and if your a parent, not with your kids.

This is another movie that is very good that the critics hate, and the viewing public enjoy. Godd acting by Gerard Butler, intersesting story line and based on real events. Well worth watching.
