It never ceases to amaze me how Ultra-Orthodox Jews are indoctrinated to believe that avoiding "sin" takes a front seat to love at all costs. I find this movie very enlightening. It makes perfect sense how Ultra-Orthodox Jews eat their own when someone isn't obedient. This film makes me so angry on the inside as to how Ultra-Orthodox Jews are treated so poorly by their very own, when G-d made them to love another human being. I feel very sorry for every single child that is born into such abuse. It is generation upon generation of emotional, psychological, and physical abuse. I thank HaShem every single day for not plopping me in an Ultra-Orthodox setting. I would have killed myself long before Aaron did in this movie. This movie reinforces for me why I choose to be secular and I am very careful to have anything to do with organized religion and all the brainwashing. I identify as a Jew by blood and by birth, but not by rituals or religious practices. G-d help all the closeted gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered Ultra-Orthodox Jews. May they find their way out of the abuse and freedom to be how G-d made them -- ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL JUST THE WAY THEY ARE! This is one of the best 'gay' films out there. It is about the attractive between two mean but more importantly, it's about accepting what is expected in order to please those around you. I think this is a universal theme that most can relate to.
