First let me say I enjoy the characters that Tom Hanks plays, so I’m a bit jaded. I did not read the book so I watched with no real knowledge of the story. The role of Otto unfolded as one might expect for this character, but the addition of a new neighbor could have gone a variety of ways. However the tenacious nature of her kindness wins out, and that was refreshing given Otto’s determination to leave this world. The power of love and kindness prevails throughout and the good feelings this movie leaves you with hits the mark for leaving the theater satisfied. While suicide should never be taken lightly, ever, Otto’s attempts were amusing enough to keep the movie in the light rather than the darkness that is so prevalent with thoughts of suicide. His grief is eventually replaced with purpose, and again keeps the movie in the light. The soundtrack was extremely important to conveying the scene’s meanings. I liked it so much, that I’m listening to it as I write this. I have read some of the comments about this movie, and while I may not agree with them, I respect their views and opinions. For me I was entertained, found some new music, was reminded it takes work to be a good neighbor, and lastly Tom Hanks and his lovely wife Rita delivered. Thank you!

Absolute great movie, good mix of humor and seriousness. Anyone whining about “woke agenda”, go practice falling down in traffic. How dare they make a movie with plot points relevant to the times… Anyone who solely focuses on that “woke” junk probably has bedded their sister at some point.

Too many examples to name. The scorn heaped upon one particular character is especially pernicious. Even the last line of the movie is used to insult and belittle a kind Hispanic man as a useless nitwit. Everyone involved in this hate-filled mess should be ashamed.

All the poor reviews are left by the Nations trainers who raided the Capital. Stop hating people simply for existing. Stop worrying about other peoples lives if their lifestyle/way of living if it is not directly negatively impacting your own. It’s okay to breathe, I can’t imagine waking up every morning and being filled with so much hate. If you wanna run it @smallhandskev is my IG. Since you don’t have a job

I love Tom Hanks. He is a great actor. I didn't expect this to be a very sad movie with a few funny moments. I had tears streaming down my eyes watching this movie.

The plot is too predictable and lacks depth of development. In my opinion, it’s Hank’s worst film.
