A truly unmatched Golden-Age snapshot of time in the 70’s, and don’t with style.

This movie was somehow quietly released and forgotten about but it's an absolute must. The chemistry between everyone in this movie- the main trio especially- it electric. Aside from spot on brilliant casting, it captures the 70's vibe so well. Great music, crazy parties and a just outright insanity of irresponsibility. I can't say it any louder- this is a comedic gem and you should just click the buy button and make a Friday Night of it. Grab a pizza and a coke and put this on your must see list.

Never would have thought to pair them but they were great together. Gosling almost stole the show but that was because Crowe was such a great counter balance. A must watch

The casting was great and the premise was too, but the story was really lacking. I was really excited for this movie, but the story just really let me down. Everything else about the movie was great though, it was funny in the right ways(not a stupid comedy), and the casting and acting was spot on.
  • Fan of Black, Crowe, or late 70's vibe? Watch this, but don't watch the trailers.

Great script, perfect casting. Sorry I waited so long to see it, but glad I skipped the trailers, sets you up for a different film & they're full of spoilers. Judging from the reviews, seems to be hit or miss & not for everybody. I think it's one of Crowe's best, one of the very rare times I wish there had been a sequel. And for once, the kid in the movie isn't annoying & actually moves the plot forward. This seems like an an odd fit given the 1978 setting, but if you're into Bogart/detective film noir, check this one out. Bonus: see if you can spot Buck Rogers & Ironman ;)
  • Entertaining, Funny and really violent
